Topic: MADIface XT frame and sample rate question?

Dear RME,

I'm having some confusion regarding the HDSPe Settings input status.

I've got a MADIface XT connected to a Burl Mothership (port 1) via optical MADI, and a Motu 112D on port 3 via Coaxial.

All MADI ports are set to 96k sample rate, 96K frame rate, single speed mode is unchecked, and all units are clocked from external wordclock @ 96kHz. Running on OSX 10.11.4, with MADIface XT Firmware: v56, Driver: v1.17. The Motu is set for 96kHz, and also shows a frame rate of 96K in the Motu settings panel.

The problem I'm having is that in the HDSPe Settings window, the MADI port that the Motu is on is showing 48kHz, 48K frame, and 64 channels, where the Burl Mothership is correctly showing 96kHz, 96K frame, and 32 channels.

I've also used an SSL optical<->coax MADI converter to try it on the optical ports, and it makes no difference.

If anyone could enlighten me on this, it would be very much appreciated!

Obviously then the Motu is still in 48k Frame mode...

Re: MADIface XT frame and sample rate question?

Hi Matthias,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, and I'm also assuming then that this is not a problem, since the Motu is showing that it's operating at 96k?

I'm just asking as I had issues with a SSL Alphalink, which was showing the same thing (48K frame rate), but would not operate at 96k at all.

Do I need to specify that MADI port as 48K in the dropdown settings of the HDSPe Settings window, or does it matter?

Cheers,
TC

The XT's input will take whatever it gets. The output should be set to 48k as long as you don't know what the Motu is doing there...
