Topic: Digiface generating noise on input

I just received used Digiface from Ebay. I connected it with PCIe-card which I got earlier. Installation went fine, but then the inputs generated noise:

totalmix

Is this hardware failure? All drivers and firmware are current.

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

What is connected to the inputs and how is the clocking set up?

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

There's Mytek converter as master clock and digiface is synced via s/pdif. Also Swissonic a/d-converter's adat output is connected to digiface and it is synced to Mytek via wordclock.

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

The situation in the picture is when no audio is coming through either converter.

And what with nothing connected and on internal clock?

looks like corrupt sample rate or clocking

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

No luck without anything connected to digiface. The output and midi sections work fine, only the input is malfunctioning.

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

What's the PCIe card's firmware version? Have you tried it in another PCIe slot?

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

Yes I have two PCIe slots and I have tried both. Firmware is latest (20).

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

I was wrong about the midi section. Output works, but input doesn't receive data properly and eventually the computer freezes.

Re: Digiface generating noise on input

I tried with one metre cable instead of five meter one. There was much less noise. So is it a matter of not getting enough power? I will try with external power supply. Is any power supply suitable if the specs are Ok?
