Topic: Help routing FF400 Mics to SPDIF/ADAT to Sony PCM50 optical in

This is what I have tried (for standalone), I am new to this but am trying with the manual to figure this out:

Mic 1+2 XLR in FF400, ADAT out to Sony PCM50 optical in. Sony set to 'line'. Settings on FF are set to SPDIF. Without routing both mics come out on the Right channel of the Sony only.

Totalmix: I set AN1mono (panned left) routed to Spdif (also ADAT1mono), and AN2mono (panned right) to Spdif (and ADAT2mono). Saved to Flash on FF. With these settings I get nothing on the Sony, I need help with this.

Thank you

Does the configuration work with the FF connected to the computer? Make sure to flash the Settings Dialog configuration with Gain and Phantom Power as well.

Re: Help routing FF400 Mics to SPDIF/ADAT to Sony PCM50 optical in

Yes it works recording into my computer/cubase, but in that case I am using firewire without any routing in totalmix. And yes I have the settings phantom power flashed to the FF.
The Sony only records in stereo, and both mics were appearing on the Right channel without any routing in Toalmix. In this case I am working in standalone using ADAT out (w SPDIF selected in settings and flashed to FF), to optical in on the Sony. So I am assuming it is a routing issue in Totalmix?

Thank you

Didi you really 'flash' the mixer settings, from within TotalMix?

options-store current state into device - flash mixer

This is what I meant if that is correct...

I did a 'total reset' and it is working! I am still new to the FF and I didn't see this before. No routing at all and it is working fine now. Thanks very much for your help.
