Topic: raydat+focusrite octopre mk2 dynamic ad/da

hi, im new user of rme raydat (and not so expert about adat connection).
i have connected the octopre to raydat to work as a converter ad/da for analog line inputs and outputs. i have connected four toslink cables to have a smux connection (88.2 or 96):
adat toslink connection:
rme adat1 in to out octopre1
rme adat1 out to in octopre1
rme adat2 in to out octopre2
rme adat2 out to in octopre2

i have set the cubase project to 88.2/32bit
the rme setting panel tells me that the sample rate is 88.2 and it's right, but the adat sync shows ADAT 1 at 44.1. Should they both be the same at 88.2?
raydat is master device, and i set the octopre to ad/da function, 88.2 sample rate, and with clock set to adat.
anyway cubase works, i can listen inputs and outputs from the octopre, but i want to understand if the setup is all right and i want the best performance and audio quality in this system. thanks for the help and for the explanations.

Re: raydat+focusrite octopre mk2 dynamic ad/da

i'm sorry, this picture is how i have connected the devices (i think that the connection is right!?)

URL=http://imageshack.com/f/plctdblBj

raydat adat1 out to octopre adat in
raydat adat2 out to octopre adat in
raydat adat1 in to octopre adat out
raydat adat2 in to octopre adat out

-octopre mk2dynamic set to 88.2 in adat clock
-cubase 7 project at 88.2
-hammerfall setting panel show:
-clock sample rate=88.2
-input adat1+2 sync at 44.1

if i set the 96khz on the octopre, the rme setting panel show:
clock sample rate=96
input adat1+2 sync at 48

the adat sync frequency is always the half of sample rate clock? it's correct? the devices are working in the right way to get a correct audio quality for recording and playback, and optimal performance? or the frequency of clock sample rate and adat sync should be the same?

the raydat is new (buyed 25 days ago) installed latest driver from rme site.

my system:
asus p7p55d-e
i5-760
12gb 1600 ddr3 dualchannel
windows 10 pro x64 updated 31/8/2016
cubase pro v7.0.7 x64

thanks for the support.

Re: raydat+focusrite octopre mk2 dynamic ad/da

Yes that is correct! The adats always work at 44 or 48k cause that is their maximum. And that is why you need 2 adat cables for 8 tracks at 88 or 96k. The 88k is split into 2 channels of 44k.
Hope this helps!
