Topic: Clock between 2 converters and 2 9652 cards

Hi everyone can someone tell me if this would be the right way to connect
word clock cables (BNC) between these units:

2 SSL Alpha Link
2 RME 9652 cards

1) If setting the RME card as master:
BNC cable from RME card 1 into RME card 2, from card 2 into SSL 1, from SSL one into SSL 2

2) If setting one of the SSL as master:
BNC cable from SSL 1 into SSL 2 into RME card 1 into RME card 2.

I know in case 2 the last card's wordclock jumper needs to be set "ON"
on the card itself, but most likely I will have to set the RME card as master as
with the setup I have now (1 SSL and one RME card) I've never been able to set
the SSL as master, always problems.

any help will be much appreciated!

Did I understand right, SSL is not able to be master even in a straight setup of only 2 devices ?

Why not simply using RME as master then ? Does this work with 2 devices / 4 devices ?
