Topic: RME HDSP 9652 PCI slot

Hi. I really need to update my PC with my HDSP Hammerfall 9652  PCI slot card ( as  the old PC is dead). Please give me any possible options with motherboards and CPU combos. I cant get performance of modern ATX board as they all made for gaming actually,not for music production and   I`m stuck now as they don`t have an (old) PCI slots..What is the compromise? Will appreciate any suggestions. Regards.

Whats your budget for that ? Mainboard, CPU, DRAM (assuming 16 or 32 GB).
Which OS ? Assuming Windows 7.

Just found this with PCI Slot ... has also thunderbolt, shall you want to upgrade to UFX+ in the future.

This CPU is very good in terms of performance, also single thread performance because of the high base clock 4 GHz.

DRAM: I'd go for 3200 DRAM to make memory transfers quicker for you.

Silent Cooler offering good airflow capabilites and nice amount of heatpipes (and still at affordable proce for a cooler).

In Total for a system with PCI slot, latest socket, 16 GB DRAM, silent cooler: 140 + 328 + 98 + 42= ~€ 608

If you want to have some money savings, then take this CPU, with lower cpu clock and lower TDP.
But I would prefer to have performance reserves of the model with "K" factor and higher clock.

How much performance do you need. I recently build a few P5Q based pcs with Q9550 cpu and 8gb ddr2 ram. Depending how much you can reuse from old pc,  it will cost you maybe 50 tp 150$€. It has 3 PCI slots. I have a hdsp9652 and 2 uad1. Performance is great and they overclocking easy and cool. All machines are at 3.6ghz.

Thank you for your help. My budget has 2 or 3k limit,so I should be fine with this. I checked all Z170A ATX on the market.
Some of them looks like have PCI or even 2 of them,but question is if it works with 9652 PCI slot?

I use the Asus z170a with 6700k and hdsp9652..

Would prefer Asus over MSI ..
Anything against the other board which I proposed ? 1 PCI slot should be sufficient for your purpose.
Guarantees ? No sorry.
