Topic: Rme ADI8-QS, Ferrofish A16 MK II, Rme OCTAMIC XTC

Assistance required to connect the following interfaces via madi.

RME ADI8-QS, FERROFISH A16 MK II, RME OCTAMIC XTC.

I need some information on the correct connection procedure if possible.

My setup is 32 channel 96k 24 bit via RME MADI HDSPE PCI Express Card.

I would like the analog inputs/outputs to appear in the following order, through my sequencer/recording software……..

RME ADI8-QS                    ANALOG I/O 01-08
FERROFISH A16 MK II                ANALOG I/O 09-24
RME OCTAMIC XTC                ANALOG I/O 25-32

Is there a set procedure/order to connect the madi i/o cable in order to use all three units ?
I can set the “Device ID” for the RME hardware, but I cannot get A16 MK II device ID information.

Re: Rme ADI8-QS, Ferrofish A16 MK II, Rme OCTAMIC XTC

IMHO you have to differentiate between those 2 things

The device ID is only required for remote controlling RME devices using "Midi over MADI"

The assignment / mapping of physical I/Os to MADI channels is being configured on each of the devices.
For XTC i.e. in the menue "Digital Routing".
1st  device: MADI channels 1...  8  = Mic 1...8
2nd device: MADI channels 9...16  = Mic 9..16

Re: Rme ADI8-QS, Ferrofish A16 MK II, Rme OCTAMIC XTC

Thanks for the information ramses.........

Looks like I have to get more familiar with each interface.

Should I connect the madi cable as follows.......

HDSPE MADI TX >>> RME ADI8-QS RX
RME ADI8-QS TX >>> FERROFISH A16 RX
FERROFISH A16 TX >>> RME OCTAMIC XTC RX
RME OCTAMIC XTC TX >>> HDSPE MADI RX
