Topic: Octamic D - Too much gain. Possible Workaround or mod?

Hey guys,

i've got an Octamic D and it just delivers to much gain. Even with dynamic microphones some drums are always clipping with gain set as low as possible. Is there a way to mod it like soldering a resistor in or change a resistor to lower the gain? That would be great!
Any help is appreciated.

The OctaMic D does not have PAD for  the mic input. You can add resistors for attenuation in front of the unit, for example within the mic cable XLR plug. Example: series 2k2 on both signal lines, 600 Ohms between the lines as load. Gives around 20 dB PAD.

Note that this does not work for phantom powered mics.
