Topic: Fireface 400 - what Firewire controller do i need for it

Hello,

I've got a FF400 that i want to use with this configuration :

mb - Asus Sabertooth Z77
cpu - Intel i7 3770K ivy bridge
ram - 16gb corsair vengenance

I know it has to be a Texas Instruments chipset .

Can you recommend some model that you personally know works well with the Fireface 400

I googled for that matter, but there are so many firewire controllers, i don't know what to choose and chosing based on what.

Thanks to anyone willing to help.

It does not absolutely have to be TI, but if, avoid the TI XIO2200. Others work well.

Hey, guys - thank you for responding!

Daniel , i've stumbled upon many instances of rme users who claim they have less issues when TI chipset is used, not that it must be. Thank you for helping me and pointing out that particular one, which i will avoid - nice to know about it.

ramses, i googled that lengthy string of symbols smile and found a thread on this forum that seems to be helpful.

Appreciate your help. I'll let know when have progress with it.

Best regards!
