I suppose I could use the phone outputs 9-12 on the UFX+ also as balanced outputs for balanced phones or line-out? I just invert the phase of channel 10 or 12, respectively.

according to the handbook these seem to be unsymmetric outputs only.

Correct. Provided you feed (means route) the correct signals to the outputs. Left channel to channel 9/10, right channel to 11/12, and all output levels identical. Please note that such a routing can only be done in TM FX if the phones outputs are NOT in the control room section, because they have to be switched to mono / single channel mode to be able to route as required.
