Topic: Creating Realtek StereoMix Effect?

Hey,
Just started using RME Babyface Pro and TotalMix is incredibly confusing.

How do I create an equivalent result to Realteks StereoMix, where your default output is treated as an input (StereoMix).

This is my current setup (minimised channels are ones I don't use i.e am only using PH as Hardware Output):

I want to route PH3/4 Hardware Output Playback (or if this is not possible, route ADAT 3+4 Software Playback) into ADAT 3/4 Hardware Input, so that it appears in Audacity like Stereo Mix does and I can record it i.e. my playback appears as an input inside Audacity just as Realtek Stereo Mix does.

If Audacity uses ASIO then you could use the Loopback feature in the Phones (or ADAT 3/4) Output Tool panel.

2 recommendations:

1. Take a real DAW program (Cubase, Reaper, ...) or you don't get the full power / potential of your RME Audio device.
Audacity has per default no ASIO support. It is not allowed to distribute it with ASIO support compiled it.

2. Watch the RME Tutorial Videos about TotalMix, you need to understand some basic concepts about the mixer.
After understanding these basic concepts its very easy and comfortably to use.
