Topic: RME HDSPe AIO Mac Pro 2009 ?

Hello everyone,

i wanna buy an RME HDSPe AIO for my 2009 mac pro.

only for playback audio, i will use input from my duet apogee.

now, i am working with the inside mac pro  soundcard for playback , surprising, it is better, no audio glitches or disconnected soundcard like i had with my duet apogee firewire output soundcard... (note : i use a lot of virtual instrument , thats why ...)

my latency with inside mac pro card is 8ms in Live ableton.

i've read lot of things everytime i am trying to search some forums thread about it , by example, if everything is fine with that card and all... you know what i mean...

2 things :

the hiss problem

the flash problem.

so here is my questions;

i buy this, new, thomann etc...

i put it in a Pcie Slot..

do i need to become an engineer from the NASA to get it working at the first time? everything's gonna be ok?

i had buy an usb3 sonnet pci card, she was plug and play no driver and stuff...

to be honest , i dont have the energy and time to spend a lot of time to trying to make working an audio card .

sorry if my message seem to be kind rude... but i am tired with the computer audio gear...

thanks !

Re: RME HDSPe AIO Mac Pro 2009 ?

It's plug and play in a Mac Pro, but you'll need to install the RME driver.

And it comes with it's own settings application, which you set and forget.

Not so hard, very reliable.

Re: RME HDSPe AIO Mac Pro 2009 ?

I have a similar mac 5.1 w pro tools. I wonder how much is your RTL (round trip latency) when using your DAW with 3-4 VST on a channel? I need to get it bellow 5-6 ms.

Many thanks.Jackie.
