Topic: Newbie: HDSP PCI 9632 - No TotalMix FX?

Hi all,

New to HDSP PCI 9632.
All installed and up to date firmware etc.  On Windows 8.1.

My old EMU0404 would allow me to play FX on I/O's on the card itself.  Trying to get my head around Total Mix.  I can't seem to engage or view any FX within TotalMix and any I/O's.  The "FX" button has no response.  Am I missing something simple here?

This card has no FX chip on board.

Oh dear!  Really?  €375 for a card with no FX chip?  Vs $99 for EMU with FX?

I actually didn't check that, assuming all RME cards had full TotalMix and FX.
Dang thats a big mistake...

Re: Newbie: HDSP PCI 9632 - No TotalMix FX?

How then do RME users add some "monitor only" reverb (for a singer) to a Vocal input for example?
Without recording the fx signal to the DAW...

Not all singer require a reverb.

It can be done by using reverbs of the DAW or Reverb units connected to the device.
