Hi Guys,

I want to record other Software program's Output channels into Ableton but in real-time.

Example: Flicking through samples and auditioning them in a separate browser program by using Input monitoring + FX within DAW.

RME ASIO / Win8.1 / Audio Browser uses WDM driver but can use another with ASIO.  Now I can imagine this is possible by using a physical ADAT out looped back to ADAT in but is there an easier way via the TotalMix software instead?

If Windows or non-ASIO aware applications need to access inputs and outputs of your RME device directly,
then use WDM devices.

If you have a DAW and you use the ASIO driver, but want to record also something from a Windows
application, then use a loopback device.
