Topic: Routing rme babyface with cubase 5
Hiya guys
im having a problem routing my babyface to be honest my knowledge is not that great stil learning
watching lots of movies but i cant seem to find how to solve this
so i created 2 main faders
first assign -> main out -> AN 1/2 (for my monitors)
Second assign -> phones 2 -> PH 3/4 (for the singer in the vocal booth)
AN 2 is my mic (top row) hardware inputs
What now happens it will create faders in the middle row software playback
AN 1/2 is active and i can see my mic fader go up and down the led
now i when i talk into my mic with the middle row AN 1/2 open it will sound like a thin can or robotic sort
When i put down that channel fader it will sound very nice and warm
but then the problem when i add a track into cubase (wich the singer will sing)
I cannot hear the track cause the middle row AN 1/2 is out fader is at 0 db
but i can still hear the voice logic cause the mic fader is up working all great
when turning on the AN 1/2 middle row i can hear the music play but then again the mic goes crazy and does a thin or robotic sound
can someone please help me rout this proparly so i can try some recordings
all i want is to:
use the mic in the vocal booth (wich use a vst in cubase for reverb that will be heard while singing)
use the headphones in the vocal booth
use the monitors outside the vocal booth to listen live as they record in the booth
but both monitor and headphones
must be able to fader them seperatly
so like when the mic is to loud on the monitors but ok on the headphones
that i can lower it down on the monitors and stays the same on the headphones !
hope someone can help me fix this !
thanks so much
