Topic: New User, Question about Headphone and Monitoring HDSP 9632

Hello, i'm french, so sory for my average sentences, and hope i will understand your answers.

I have bought the rme 9632 with the Box BOB-1 Breakout Box.
I have connected my headphone to the phone box
I have connected my monitoring to the Line Out Box
I work In Ableton Live 5 where i have configured simply 1+2 AN IN & 1+2 AN OUT

My question :

I want listen Ableton Live with my headphone and with my monitors, but not at the same time. If my monitors are connected and powered ON, can i mute my monitors, and listen only with my headphone?? Or i must power off my monitors, and when i want listen into my monitors power ON them??

Actually i heard music in the both ( headphone + monitors ) but can't cut the music in my monitors, Or I listen nothing in the both.

I have found the button Muted for Phone in DSP, but i thank than with the totalmix we can make a routing who separate the both signals.

There is only one DAC for both outputs. It is not possible to mute analog out and continue phones out. Only the other way. If you really need it that way you could change the cabling.

Ok, thank you. If i change the cabling ( phone RME to my monitors & line out to my headphone ) the quality of sound will be always good?

Someone is telling me he put the Monitor Phone in Phone ! and that work....... but in my totalmix i haven't Phone, i have only :

AN1+2
SPDIF
A1+2
A3+4
A5+6

I'm crazy? or the person who tell me that have certainly an RME but not the 9632?

Yes, so line out and phone are the same thing. The personne who have Phone in Monitor Phone has a multiface, so in the multiface, AN1+2 and phone are separated, but not in the RME 9632 RIGHT?

So i can resolve my problem with this solution no?

HDSPe AIO has a separate DAC for phones, so it can have a different signal than main analog out.
