regarding problem number 3: it's not wrong on the input-channels here (hdsp9632) -> http://www.outburst-audio.com/misc/inpu … b-hdsp.png
here a screenshot of the whole mixer: http://www.outburst-audio.com/misc/basi … sp9632.png
maybe matthias can have a look at problem number 1 and provide a fix ...
About nr 3: The problem was that the max value of the slider was 1 pixel over the scales. If you set a input channel to max you'll see that the slider is 1 pixel off there as well.
Sincerely
LarsErik
ah ok, you mean the max value. but then the playback-channels (at +6 dB) also have this problem!

Yes the playback channels +6db where one pixel off as well, but I've fixed all this now.
I've got some minor cosmetic changes to do and then I'll let you try it out.
Sincerely
LarsErik
Here's a bugfixed and slighty modified version of BasicBlue.
- Fixed +6db pixel problem for HDSP (and max value on inputs and playback channels.)
- Changed channel "over" bitmap to look more original.
- New slider knob graphics.
- Minor changes to the scale lines.
HDSP graphics bitmaps can be found in the HDSP subfolder.

Edit: This version is also available on the download page (both PC and MAC) thanks to Matthias Carstens.

The Over-LEDs look different on playback- and outputchannels:

http://www.outburst-audio.com/maik/ovr-output.pngOn the output-channels there's a 1 pixel wide space at the right of the right Over-LED.
Matthias, can this be fixed in TotalMix?
FIXED (3.076)
Sure.

Upgrade to driver version 2.8.6. This contains the latest firefacemix.exe that can load custom skins.
Sincerely
LarsErik
Thanks for the reply,
I checked and do have the latest driver version 2.86 and I copied the bitmap folder into the TotalMix folder in XP but still no change to the maixer?
I must be having a brain freeze or something?/
Any ideas???????
skin's folder name should be "bmp", rename the old one if it is something else.
make sure you exit the mixer and relaunch...
Thanks got it
Anyone on Mac having troubles with the loopback function & custom skins?
I cant enable it.
Thanks, Luigi.
Thanks for the skins guys. My favourite is Manolo's 'Black Red', but unfortunately my level meter text colour is green, which is very hard to read with this skin. Are there any plans to add the level meter text colour option to the Fireface Mixer app on Mac?
Does it matter that I have a Multiface 2 instead of a FireFace? Will the new total mix design still work?

I cant enable it.
Thanks, Luigi.
I installed yesterday the 2.61 fireface driver and cannot enable loop also with no custom skin... seems buggy somehow.

It's still there in 3.063! Forgotten?

Btw: Mattias, sometime ago you said that on OS X there's a new refreshed TotalMix icon (like the new DIGICheck icon) which will be added to the Windows version too. But we still have the old one on Windows. Any news for this?
I've been inspired by Manolo's work to create a skin for NUENDO during the past few days.
EDIT:
Please check post #331 for latest versions of all my skins.
Cheers,
Terry
Nice one Zolo. Keep up the good work. :-)
Great work, but we can?t make it "official" on the RME website. The artwork and the logo is owned by Yamaha/Steinberg. They will be surely not happy to see it on another companies products.
best regards
Knut

Removing the logo is an easy fix...
It would be a shame if Steinberg/Yamaha complained about this graphic resemblance.
It's been posted at Steinberg's Nuendo forum for several days now with unanimously positive response.
Technically, not a single button has been copied directly from Nuendo and inserted into this skin. Virtually everything similar needed to be resized, redrawn, and proportioned to fit the nature of the Totalmix design.
Unless someone can own a proprietary copyright based on a color combination, I think we're good to go.
Interestingly, I opened Adobe Audition 3 and immediately saw the exact same green button icons being used for an On/Off function...
it looks like a uniform standard item.
Here you go, renamed nu-skin without a Steinberg logo.:
And the complete bmp folder, including screenshot:

I"ll stop editing this post to present my case.

Hi,
Thank's Zolo for this work.
In addition, it is the first time the screen appears in my mixer !

There is a Mac version?
Thanks!
Ciao,

I figured it out...
Terry?s NU-Skin is now also available as PC and Mac (Fireface) download on the RME website.

Nice work Terry .
...just returned from vacation to see this.
I'm honored.
Thanks guys!
OK... back at it...
Here's a skin based on Adobe Audition 3... I'll call it "brownie" ;-) :

I'm having a problem getting any GUI to show.
I'm using 2.89 but I didn't have an RME TotalMix folder in my Application Data folder (for either "all users" or "my" account). In fact, I don't ever remember running an "installer", I simply installed my drivers via the Device Manager.
Regardless, I now have a folder in Application Data named "RME TotalMix" with a bmp folder inside (that contains a GUI), but alas, nothing. And yes, I've restarted firefacemix.exe multiple times.
Any ideas what the problem might be?
And...
OK... back at it...
Here's a skin for Adobe Audition 3:

I know... remove the logo ;-)
I"ll post a download later in the day if anyone is interested.
Cheers,
Terry
I am interested in this GUI! Please do post it...

You must have posted this just as I was editing an update to my post above...
Look back up there, it's ready to go.
Sorry I can't provide any advice on the Fireface.
Hopefully someone will jump in here soon and help you out.
Any one?
Just one thing to doublecheck:
Make sure your bmp folder path is NOT "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\etc..."
This path exists, but not to an RME Totalmix folder...
It must be "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\RME Totalmix\bmp"
Then, reboot.
No need to reboot I think....Just kill the Firefacemix.exe process and call it back on the command line. Correct me if I'm wrong... ( I've done it successfully several times...)
Cheers.
Thank you, it worked.
What a difference.
I don't know if this has been asked already or not, but I have a question regarding the fader slider button graphics (i.e. : the part of the fader that you move up and down with the mouse to adjust the volume) :
Is it possible to use a slider button graphic that has other size dimensions than the normal graphic ? (where the vertical size is approx. 2~3 times the horizontal size, like on real hardware mixing desks)
Can I simply use larger graphics in TotalMix or is this impossible at this moment ?
And if this is impossible : can this type of functionality be incorporated into the next version of TotalMix, please ?
I would love to be able to use slider graphics that resemble the sliders of a real hardware mixer. :-)
This is not possible. All graphics have a fixed size.

Knut

Short answer on this? I never saw the OS X icon - how does it look like?
This is not possible. All graphics have a fixed size.

Hi Admin Knut,
Thanks a lot for answering my question. I appreciate that.
Do you think that there is any chance that this could be changed in 1 of the next versions of TotalMix ? Since you're already allowing the customisation of the TotalMix interface, It would be the next logical step in the entire customisation process if you ask my humble opinion.
...I'm still wondering about the ability to use different skins for FireFace mixer and HDSP mixer....

Here's a screenshot from the Logic Pro 8 mixer. It would be nice if someone could use this as a design draft for Total Mix.

Wouldn't this design be beautiful?
Best regards,
.
It would be great if one could change the color of each channel to arrange groups clearly and quickly.
[Also nice would be if one could grab each channel and move it somewhere else, as in the logic mixer, also to arrange groups clearly and quickly.
I know that this would require more than just another bitmap.]

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I'm not particularly inspired by the look of Logic 8.
The colors can be matched, but the configuration will not be similar.
The fader would be a grey notch with a typical fader knob.
There is no way to have the knob control a blue stripe that corresponds to level.
The other requests you have would require total user customization of the images, locations, and function options.
That type of major rewrite in capabilities would be up to RME... I doubt they would spend the time for free.
All this, and the fact that no PC user will want it... unless they're still using version 5.
I question whether this is worth my time.
I will think about it...
hi
i'm here for the first time.
i have to say i've just downloaded basic blue skin and it's very cool... it fits very well with the hardware interface.
i have a question: did u hear about some optional icons for fireface settings and totalmix, where can i get them?
tnx
mm
i made a bitmap using some parts from "NU Skin" Terry Gorle, "Ultimate Skin" and photoshop.
grey and simple.
