Topic: Mono input -> Panned in TotalMix Fx -> Stereo Recording in DAW: how ??

Hi,

I have been using TotalMix Fx for a few weeks now and I am now tweaking the EQ and Dynamics Fxs which work really well !

All my hardware inputs are mono and I use also the Pan functionality in TotalMix, on the Hardware inputs mono tracks, so I get a really good mix in the end.

Now that it is time to record the result in my DAW, but I am stuck in getting the panning, because the inputs available in my DAW are the hardware inputs, and though they are post EQ+D they are obviously without the panning because the hardware inputs are mono.

How can I get each the stereo outputs that TotalMix is sending in the Main Mix ?

Thank you for your help.
Best regards

Max

which RME interface you are using?

with Loopback you can send the outputs back to your DAW Software

Ufx.

The hardware outputs, right ?

I have no hardware outputs.

Only mono inputs that are stereoized by TotalMix Fx but still appear as mono in the DAW, though post Eq+D.

third row in TM are the hardware outputs from the UFX

with loopback you are recording the HW outputs - say route your inputs you want to record to the HW outputs in TM say ADAT 1-2 - any outputs are possible - and record this  (sure you must tell your recording software which outputs you wish to record (loopback), so in the example above ADAT 1-2 are your recording inputs in the DAW software)

which software you are using?

hope that helps

Hi!

Yes it makes sense thank you !

I'll try that and post my result here.

I'm using Ableton Live.
