Topic: PCIe MADI FX + 2 PCIe AES cards - Unified drivers?

Apologies if this has been addressed already.

If I build a config based on 1 MADI FX and 2 AES (all PCIe cards), will I have access to all these channels through the unified ASIO driver ?

Thanks!

There is no 'unified' driver for these two products.

OK, so just to be crystal clear: 2x PCIe AES cards can work under the unified driver (correct?), but not with MADI FX, do we agree?

Also, before making a wrong purchase: could 1x PCIe MADI (no FX!)+ 2x PCIe AES work under the unified driver ?

Thanks

Look under the driver download page: https://archiv.rme-audio.de/downloads/driver/hdspe.php

There you can see which of those devices use the same driver:

a) driver_hdsp_win_###.zip for these cards:
HDSP/HDSPe MADI, AES, RayDAT, 9632, 9652, AIO, MADIface, Multiface, Digiface, RPM

b) driver_pciefx_win_###.zip for these cards:
HDSPe MADI FX, MADIface XT (E-PCIe)

So "HDSPe MADI" (no FX) and "HDSPe AES" use the same driver so it should be possible to access all I/O ports in your DAW by using the driver "driver_hdsp_win...."

In this case it helps to find this out if you use the real product names like i.e. "HDSPe MADI" instead of "PCIe MADI".

Thanks for the detailed answer and correction on proper naming.
