Topic: Babyface Pro - Babyface; via ADAT?

So I upgraded my BF to a BFP... Is it possible to connect the two via adat to have additional ins/outs?

Re: Babyface Pro - Babyface; via ADAT?

How many cables would be required? This is my first time using adat..

I guess the question would be if I need more than one toslink cable to maintain a 96k sample rate..?

Re: Babyface Pro - Babyface; via ADAT?

1 ADAT link has 8 logical channels @44.1/48 kHz.
To achieve 88.2/96 kHz 2 logical channels will be multiplexed, thus you have only 4 channels in total.
To achieve 176.4/192 kHz 4 logical channels will be multiplexed, thus you have only 2 channels in total.

Thank you @Ramses, so long story short one cable will suffice but the logical channel count will be cut in half, correct?

I apologize Ramses I did take a second to educate myself using the user manual, so I should be using a Toslink cable for each signal (in/out) that I want from the additional Babyface, correct?

No problem. Exactly :-)

Hey Ramses,
So I picked up a single toslink cable and ran it from the out of my BFP to the in of the BF.
I then assigned adat 3/4 to "speaker b", I can see a signal from the playback section of totalmix under adat 3/4 but there's nothing going on in the actual hardware section.
I assumed the extra outputs would be adjustable from the BFP totalmix but it only allows me to adjust within the BF totalmix.
Is this normal or did I #*!$ something up?
I was hoping to use the extra outs on my BF and eliminate the need for the Behringer Monitor2USB, as whenever I tried using a trs splitter for extra outs using the headphones I get allot of interference/noise...

You need to open a TM window per interface.
