I'm getting a SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION if I don't start everything in a certain order...

For instance, I *must* make sure the Fireface 400 is connected to the laptop and powered on before boot up, otherwise the sound will not play.  Then it will blue screen.

The host light on the card does turn off, so it is being initialized either way.

I'm concerned about this, because this will be used for live stuff, and I will also have assistants who will likely be setting up this gear.  This is a nuance that I can't deal with, especially when the seconds matter.

So there's a Windows hotfix for x64 (windows kb980932) which claims to fix this, but when I run the hotfix, it claims "The update is not applicable for your computer"

Any pointers here?  Thanks in advance!
