ADI-648 Dip Switches between MADI Optical I/O and MADI Coaxial I/O?
Could someone please explain the function of the 2 dip switches labeled '1' and '2' on the red switch. They are two position, either up or down. Can't seem to find a reference in the manual.

These switches boosted the coaxial output voltage on very old units, which turned out to make no difference. The switches were consequently removed completely later on. Your unit seems to be one of those in-between, switches still there but no longer functional.

I would also like to know more about reading the 'audio' lights to determine the firmware and see if I am a candidate for an EPROM.
I assume the input audio is the primary version and the output version the 'point.' value, e.g. 2.5.
What is the current firmware version?

The original ADI-648 stopped at 1.83 (2004). The MKII version was 2.3 (2005), and the MKIII 2.5 (2006). Those are all identical, but address changes for the modified hardware/PCB in MKII and MKIII.

As I have the '2' led on the input audio and the '5' led on the output audio, I must have 2.5.
