Topic: Totalmix control room out and RME ARC USB controller
Hi guys
We recently switched to Totalmix as our back of house master router and are really happy with it, we then have added the ARC USB controller for two reasons for control room monitor control and also general snapshot between DAW and then direct monitoring.
Note not using rme convertors
Things have been going great but an early question/potential issue we identified is that with the ARC USB controller main knob being an endless and unattenuated/marked rotary - when using to control the monitor out you can push levels without knowing etc. What this is causing is our Genelec sub to enter overload protection mode more often than not.
A suggestion would be to be able to apply a limit for the control room out fader. The ARC usb is such a great product but when using as a vol control it would be so good to have the limit set.
You don't get any indication of a level when using the arc from a daw to Total mix to monitors, we have been dragging the total mix screen with all sections minimalised and just the channel to a second screen or iPad but its a pain
I understand that you can lower the software input faders which route toward the control room out, but it would be great to have it at the final stage
Any workarounds?
