Topic: ARC running on Win XP with a HDSP 9652 ?

Will the ARC be running on an old Windows XP system and  a HDSP 9652 installed?
Total mix version 1.43
HDsp Driver 4.18

Thank you very much for your answer!

I have to check if somebody tried that already. The question here is if XP supports UAC-1 class compliant MIDI. I would say it does, so the ARC USB will work. But I can't guarantee that right now.

Thank you very much Matthias. Do you have the chance to test that?

We now had the chance to test it and it does not work. Windows XP is giving the 'RME ARC' a generic name instead (USB MIDI Device), so TotalMix FX does not find the ARC USB.

As there is no support for XP anymore the ARC USB is now officially incompatible to Windows XP.

Somewhere in this Forum I found a hack using the generic driver but changing the name of the device.
Would that work around the problem?

Dear, Win XP is so old ... has a flavour like Cobol and Mainframe...

I would at least upgrade to something "different old" and mature like Win7,
32bit or 64bit depending on whether drivers/applications support 64bit or not.

Especially as devices, that were supported by XP, had usually a very good chance
to be supported by Win7 as well.

Then you have at least only the costs for the OS upgrade, and as long licenses are still available for Win7 .....
