Hi,

an interesting problem developed with my trusty Multiface some years ago (I forgot exactly when). Sample rates of 48k and 96k output a silent high pitch noise (like a CRT television might have emitted) to all outputs. The noise is constant volume regardless of volume set in Totalmix.

As 44.1/88.2 sampling rates continue to work normally it's not so much an issue, but I'm curious of what might cause this. I don't know how audio interfaces exactly work, but maybe the crystal providing the clock for the sampling rate is malfunctioning? Or are there different crystals for different multiples of sampling rate? Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!
