Topic: (Babyface Pro)Noise problem with instr input

Hello

This is my first post.and sorry for bad English.
I have been using the Babyface Pro to listening music and playing video game and composing music.

My problem concern this set:
1. Windows 10 Desktop PC +
2. Babyface Pro without Power adapter +
3. Nintendo Switch +
4. Genelec 8030

[Audio routing](1>2>3)
1.Nintendo Switch > HDMI > Philips 4K Monitor
2.Philips 4K Monitor > Audio cable(Stereo Mini - Phone) > Babyface Pro (Instr)
3.Babyface Pro > Audio cable(XLR) > Genelec 8030

I recorded video.Please check.

I tried investigation of the cause.I think my PC generate noise.
Operation of the PC is affecting noise.(video 0:49~)
and I tried Babyface Pro with USB power only.(without PC) Noise disappeared.

But there is no noise in the PC sound.(System,iTunes,DAW,and so on)
The noise only appear when using instr input.

How can we solve it?
if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Why this connection?

Anyhow, an instrument input is high impedance. Not suited for headphone outputs or line outputs.

Use a normal line input instead.

MB Pro - 2 X FireFace 400, FF800 & DigiFace USB
ADAT gear: Korg, Behri, Fostex, Alesis...

@cyrano

Thanks for reply.

What is normal line input?
I think inputs 3 & 4 is instr/line input.(https://www.rme-audio.de/en/products/babyface_pro.php > Progressive Interface)

Actually, I'd like to connect nintendo switch and babyface pro directly, but another noise is generated from nintendo switch and its dock, so it is connected with the philips 4k monitor.

This is a classical ground loop situation. You need to break the ground loop at some point, like you did between PC and BF Pro (can be done by galvanically isolating tools like the 'Intona'), or by removing ground from the Philips monitor (not recommended due to safety issues), or by the most often used tool, adding a DI box like this one:

Thanks for replying.
I'll try it.
I am pleased to know the cause because I was suffering for a long time.
Thanks your support.
