Topic: ADI 2 PRO as ADC to record vinyl LPs into DSD format Files

Considering in buying an ADI 2 PRO

I'm interested to store some old vinyl records as DSD files with ADI 2 PRO.

However I have 2 issues to clear.
1) My phono preamp has standard consumer RCA output. Does this cause any impedance problems?
Does the ADI 2 PRO provide input gain to compensate the lower consumer standard output of my preamp?

2) i'll use the USB interface of a Mac to store the output of the ADI 2 PRO into DSD files.
Has someone any experience with a good recording software to do this?

answering an old question: dunno why ppl always like to use dsd but i would use pcm for recording. you could do a careful remastering with samplitude or whatever and use izotope rx to minimize crackling/noise/hum - output. best is to read some mastering tutorials 1st (preserve dynamics!!!). if you still want a (useless) dsd recording, you could try "korg audiogate"..

Recording soft:

- Audacity, free, powerful, ugly.

- Acon Digital Acoustica 7, 200$ (most complete version); powerful built-in denoising, dehumming, decrackle. Nice to look at.

- Ocen Audio, nice, free, not stable for me.

- Adobe Audition, not free. Never used it.

FWIW, I agree about DSS. No audio editor really can handle it. Not even those that pretend to.
