Topic: RME Babyface Pro won't turn off

Just got the RME Babyface Pro today. I have tried to search the issue but got no answers.

So yeah. I have a Laptop which is where my RME is plugged in. Everything works normal besides of turning RME off. I mean i know that there is no turn off switches or anything. I have worked with focusrite 2i2 before. The focusrite will automatically loose power after turning my laptop off. I know that RME won't turn off if i put my laptop on SLEEP. The thing is. I've turned off my laptop but my RME still turned on. I know that my laptop has charging ports for phones and things.

Now the question is. Can i unplug the USB port after turning my laptop off, but the RME is still on??
That means i need to unplug it every single time i turn off my laptop.
Or is this anw to turn the thing off

Thanks

Do you use the BF Pro with external power supply? Then the BF Pro will stay on all time. If used via USB bus power it will turn off when the computer turns off USB power. This can usually be controlled in the BIOS (UEFI) settings. But when the 2i2 turned off it means the computer does turn off USB power, and then the BF Pro will turn off too...

No i'm not using external power supply. My 2i2 turns off when i turned the laptop off but my rme doesn't. I will take a look at my BIOS settings. Thanks anyway.

After a while fixing around, in windows, Bios and stuff i still cannot turn off my BF Pro. The issues stills stays. This is a picture, after i've turned the laptop all off, The keyboard is not shining the mouse is not shining, nothing is on except the RME BF Pro.

Then there is power on the usb port. If you can't turn that off in the bios, it might be called usb charging or something like that (for sure not via windows!), there is nothing you can do except unplugging the cable. Very maybe another usb port might behave differently. That is easy to check, just connect to the other ports and see if there is one where the BF stays off.
On my desktop motherboard there is a jumper which enables usb power when off, but that is never on a laptop.

I have tried to plug my RME to other USB ports when the Laptop is off, but every single of them turns the RME back on

There is like nothing you could really change in Bios

Well then it is final, you will need to unplug it if you want it off. Depends how much you use it if that is the way to go or leave it on. If you want to prevent wear on the usb sockets, you could use a short extension cable And unplug there.
BTW I guess it behaves this way because of stand alone mode!

Re: RME Babyface Pro won't turn off

I use a device like the above just because I like to turn the Babyface off if I'm not going to use it for several days, but I don't like plugging and unplugging.

The one I use is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TP … &psc=1

I just can't decide whether I should leave the Babyface on all the time or shut it off overnight and while I'm at work.
