Topic: Hammerfall 9632 - Need Older Drivers?

Hello,

I've had the 9632 for a couple years, everything was flawless, now after I reformatted my OS the real time peak is much worse in cubase.  I get spikes especially with omnisphere.  All drivers are in check, tried a new video card, disabled certain drivers, etc.  I've formatted my computer many times and this has never been an issue.

Once thing I did this time was flash my RME to the newest version.  I'm wondering if I need an older driver?  At least I would like to try.

Win 7 Ultimate
Cubase 8
64gb ram
Multiple SSDs
3930k
GA UD5 x79

Anyone?  Performance is terrible right now, I'd like to somehow flash my RME card back to it's original state and try that version.

You can flash the 9632 to any firmware version - but which one did you have before?

Scrolling through this historical stuf you must have updated to version 155, so you had 154 or 153 before. Which driver version are you using now? Using an older firmware requires to also install an older driver - before generation 4.x.

Yeah I'm on 155 right now, is there anyway I can get both 154 and 153 drivers so I can try both, and is flash done via bios or app?

Can you resend v152, it seems to be a copy of v154.

Right now v 153 seems to be working the best

The exe in that archive is from 2009, so it is v 152.

I'm looking at it right now, at the top of the box it says "108/*154*/207/etc"

The rest are according to driver versions, i.e., "108/*153*/207/etc", "108/*155*/207/etc"

Well it looks like none of these drivers are really improving my situation.  I've tried Wndows 7 and Windows 10 now.  7 was flawless all year until the reformat, so I have absolutely no idea what the issue is.  Could my card be faulty?  I'm going to drastically re-arrange my workflow during these projects now as I can't run big sessions.

I'm currently on Version: 4.21.  Any other drivers out there?

You're right, V 152 is from before 2007, I can't find it. And I doubt that you used that one before.

Version 4 drivers came out around end of 2014. When did you update your driver last time? Isn't the old driver part of your backup?

Not sure, never updated any drivers when I first installed it, definitely didn't flash anything.  Windows auto installed it.

Is there a way to install older drivers than 421?  I'm assuming this is different from V 152, V 153, etc

About a year and a half ago.  But it was bought second hand from someone who hadn't used it in years.  Not sure what version it was at time of purchase. 

Is there an older version than 421?

Driver series 4.x started July 2014. Easy to know - did you use TotalMix (HDSPMix) or TotalMix FX with your HDSP9632?

The 'latest' firmware is 154 or 155, both 10 years old. Just the FUT program had been updated to work with the 4.x series driver.

Older drivers are all on our website. Simply change the number at the end:

https://archiv.rme-audio.de/download/dr … in_410.zip is about 2 years old.

411, 412, 414, 415, 416, 417, 418, 421 are all online.

I expect none of these to change anything. Our drivers never caused nor fixed something like yopu reported.
