Topic: Windows 10 Fall Creators Update - no sound after Sleep

I recently got the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, and now after the computer resumes from sleep, sometimes (most of the time),  i get no sound from my Fireface UC with the built in Windows drivers - ASIO plays back fine. It looks like the driver is loaded, TotalMix is running, the OS recognizes the device, sets it as default playback device etc. But no sound. Ex. when playing sound file through Foobar 2000, i get an error, "Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x88890008)". Or sound from the browser (watching Youtube etc), or any other system based sounds - i get nothing. But running audio software that uses the ASIO drivers is fine - like Ableton Live or Reaper. Rebooting appears to correct the problem until the next time it goes to Sleep.

My setup - Surface Pro 4, Fireface UC. Was working fine before the OS update.

Any thoughts?

Check the control panel 'Sound' after wake up from sleep. Which devices are present and which one is default.

The RME Fireface UC is set as the default device.
