I've been wondering if you had any bug reports coming in regarding (Core)MIDI and the FW400 on High Sierra.

The issue is the following:
I usually leave my computer running/go to sleep instead of shutting it down. The power for all peripherals (including the FW400) is switched off though.
When returning from standby everything seems to work except for MIDI In/Out on the FW. The lights on the FW400 dont indicate any midi signals when sending them from inside the DAW.

The only workaround so far seems to be to manually kill the CoreMIDI Server (`sudo killall -9 MIDIServer`) via Terminal.
I couldn't find any useful information in the Activity Console/Log Files either. Given Apple's recent track record I almost assume this is a bug in CoreMIDI rather than the FW drivers.
