Topic: miniDSP 'EARS' [for ADI-2 Pro]

Hello,

Maybe some ADI-2 Pro headphone users are interested in 'EARS' by miniDSP?

"Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20kHz +/-1dB with calibration loaded" and "[...] 2 calibration files. One for large cans and one for IEM (in ear)." sounds darn good!

>EARS<

As comparison, the individual calibration [by Sonarworks] of one of my headphones claims to be accurate to +/-0,9dB ... which, from the measurement side, gives no audible advantage over EARS's accuracy.

Enjoy! smile

You are welcome.

A quick update. Now there are 3 Unique Calibration Files available:

HPN: default headphone compensation
IDF: IEM diffuse field compensation
RAW: no headphone compensation (mic cal only)

Happy tuning!

Re: miniDSP 'EARS' [for ADI-2 Pro]

We did the first tests and EARS basically works good. The new RAW files are much appreciated.

But there is one really stupid problem with this system: the silicon ear is not modeled after a human ear. It is not possible to insert professional in-ears as the space is missing that their housing intentionally uses (to fix the in-ear mechanically). Unbelievable and really disgusting oversight on miniDSP's side.

Re: miniDSP 'EARS' [for ADI-2 Pro]

Update. A 4th Unique Calibration File is available:

HEQ: headphone compensation for flat EQ target
HPN: original headphone compensation
IDF: IEM diffuse field compensation
RAW: no headphone compensation (mic cal only)

Finally I received my device, as well! My first tests with the ADI-2 Pro will start soon.
