Topic: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

Hi,

I can´t get my Babyface Pro rotary dialer to move any faders in Total Mix FX. It functions, and sets the volumes, but faders are still (but the meters works..)

Babyface Pro (71968758)
Total Mix FX 1.22
Mac OS 10.10.5

Thanks,

Updating the driver might be helpful...

Re: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

Thanks, and sorry; I now remember why I´m using an older driver:

In driver v2.21 Totalmix won´t launch, it keeps jumping in the dock with no result.

I have done the Flash update (Firmware v101)

I have deinstalled all files and re-installed.
I did have an older version when I was using an older Fireface 400. I think I deleted all the older files, but maybe there are some files I haven´t found? Could that be the problem.

As of right now, it´s not working. Please advice!

Thanks

Henrik

Update:

I downloaded Version 1.22 from this one
https://archiv.rme-audio.de/download/driver … _217_2.zip

Totalmix launches and plays, but no connection between faders and Babyface Pro..

Hi again Matthias,

do you have any other suggestions? Are there known issues with OS 10.10.5 ?

Thanks, would appreciate getting this sorted out!

Re: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

More clear details, please. You say that when toggling through all three output options on the Babyface Pro and turning the wheel no fader ever moves in the hardware output row of TotalMix FX? But the volume changes? That seems impossible.

In the Audio Devices window of Audio MIDI Setup select the BF Pro output. You see all the OS faders, which again should move dependent on the selected output on the Babyface Pro. Does that work?

Re: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

Hi Matthias,

Yes, in v1.22: no faders move either from the dialer on BFPro nor from within the AudioMidi Setup dialogue., BUT; I have sound and the volume of PH and Out 1-2 works from the dialer, and the meters show signal..

The problem is that I can´t get TotalMix to launch with the latest driver installed..  I´m reluctant to updrage to High Sierra, due to Protools and other software, but is there another OS after 10.10.5 (my current OS) that I could try?

Thanks.

Henrik

Re: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

To add to the weirdness:

I now tried v.1.43 (2.21) again, TotalMix doesn´t launch, but I get audio and can use the rotary to adjust volume on speakers and PH...

BF Pro is present in AudioMidi Setup, and I can also adjust the volumes from there, but no connection between rotary on BF and the faders in AudioMidi Setup.

I do get a rather nasty "snap" in the speakers when starting audio.

You seem to have not followed that link nor removed the ProTools plugin preventing TM FX from starting, as described in that link. We do not support TM FX 1.22 anymore.

Re: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

I did remove the file as you described in your link;-) No change...

Any other library-files that should be eliminated?

Re: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

I found the culprit!

The plugin was named SoundBunny.plugin (in the HAL-folder)

So, it seems to be workin fine now!

Thanks,

Re: Babyface Pro - Rotary dialer not moving faders in TM

That's an interesting information. I searched and found this is known, but never came up here before. From Native Instruments support:

-----------
Additionally, we have learned that the plugin files listed below may also cause similar problems when launching an NI application:

    "RazerAudio.plugin"
    "Hear.plugin"
    "SoundBunny.plugin"
    "Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin"

As these files are likewise found in the HAL folder...

For the record, none of this is known to affect Totalmix in OSX versions upwards of 10.10.
