Topic: RME Babyface + Os Sierra 10.12.6 stutter problem

Hey There,

I have a problem with my RME Babyface and Os Sierra 10.12.6. I am having stutter problems since i have updated from OSX Yosemite (after doing a clean install) to OS Sierra. When i change the output to internal and back it is normal for a few minutes again. First i thought it was a problem in Ableton but it appears while playing music from itunes or online aswell. I read in another thread that this problem has happened on OSX Yosemite before and when changed to complaint mode on the RME Babyface that it would not stutter. I can confirm that this is the same case for me so far.

Specs:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Macintosh HD
Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Would love to see this issue resolved!

Btw i have installed the latest driver v3.03

Is that HD operating as Fusion Drive? Apart from that there have been no 'stutter' issues reported at all. Alternatively you could try driver 2.21.

I have installed the driver 2.21 and for now the problem has not reoccurred.

And no it is not a fusion drive.

I have had the exact same stutter issue with babyface pro, driver 3.03 and sierra 10.12.6. Did downgrading to 2.21 fix it?

Yes, I have the same problem since I bought my MPB a year ago... I've tried EVERYTHING. Any solutions?

Make a backup, then try the latest OS X.

Or install on a new separate partition.
