Topic: Headphones Jacks on UFX - How to use as UNBALANCED outs?

Hey Folks!

To have manual control in my voiceover booth I use an Aphex Headpod 454. I would prefer to simply use one of the two stereo headphone outputs on the front of my UFX to power the Aphex Headpod.

Instead of running two separate mono outs from the back of the UFX into the two BALANCED ports on the back of the headpod -- I'd like to only use ONE cable from the UFX-->Aphex Headpod.

The back of the Headpod has a single stereo port but it's UNBALANCED. (see image below)

The UFX manual says these headphone outputs can be used an UNBALANCED output but doesn't explain how. Do I simply need to use an UNBALANCED TS male cable from the UFX headphone port to the back of the UNBALANCED stereo port on the Aphex Headpod?

Also, how should I gain-stage everything correctly? Set the phones output to HIGH and the Totalmix phones output fader to 0.0 (unity)?

Sonic clarity and accuracy is the goal here. If running two mono outs instead will sound better than an unbalanced stereo out, I'll go for the former. Just looking for help smile.

Thank you!!

No you use a trs cable, which can either be used as a unbalanced stereo cable (this case) or as a balanced mono cable.
Setting levels is just RME at max and use volume on the headphones amp. In this case...life is simple ;-)
