Topic: Babyface Pro crackling (Intel integrated graphics)

I just purchased a Babyface Pro and am encountering the following issue: At low buffer settings, there is crackling and popping when I'm using audio apps (mainly Maschine and Ableton Live) along with scrolling in Google Chrome (and also switching). I'm using the integrated graphics on my CPU (Intel i5-8400, 8th Gen with Intel UHD630) driving a 4k monitor.

Strange thing is when I used to have a Geforce GPU, I could set the latency settings lower and this would not occur. Is this a case of the computer not being able to drive a 4k resolution while dealing with audio apps at the same time?

Re: Babyface Pro crackling (Intel integrated graphics)

To test if it is the resolution that is to much or that the integrated gfx is not up to it, switch the resolution to HD and see if it helps. If HD helps, you could check if it is possible to use more ram for the onboard GFXs.

You might just need to use a different USB port, see manual. Also note this one:

Re: Babyface Pro crackling (Intel integrated graphics)

Thanks for the sugggestions! I've switched to HD from 4k and it definitely helped a lot although a slight bit of crackling remained when switching apps at 64 samples.

MC: I've changed USB ports but it doesn't seem to make a big difference, however, your link provided me with a lot of good info. I only have a single stick of 16gb ddr4 ram so perhaps running dual channel will be the solution! I'll have to spend a little more for a second stick of ram but that is still cheaper than getting a discrete GPU just to run things properly.
