Topic: Recording Noise w/ Babyface Pro

Hey guys,

I'm facing an issue where I'm getting some noise when recording... the following two recordings were obtained in their described scenarios with the recording gain pushed all the way up.

1. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tNUcQ … xIg9Ax1jpV
(XLR->RCA cables plugged into input channels 1+2, with the rca ends plugged into nothing)

2. (see reply)
(XLR->RCA cabled plugged into intut channels 1+2, with the rca ends plugged into my tape deck)

This is occurring following getting a new macbook pro.

Any help in eliminating this noise would be utmostly appreciated!!

Best,
Ray

Also, another issue: I have my speakers plugged into the XLR outs, and the XLR ins have those other cords in them.. When I set macOS' audio to run out through the speakers via the babyface, I can't get my internal microphone on my laptop to work while on a facebook messenger call in firefox. Once I switch the operating system back to using the internal speakers of the macbook pro, the facebook call works and my internal microphone receives signal. The entire time, the internal microphone is selected in the messenger call. I can see no signal on the firefox monitoring gauge or whatever when macOS uses the babyface outs, but I do once I switch back to the laptop's speaker in macOS.
