Topic: Driver for HDSPe MADI FX?

Dear RME Linux Community,

According to posts in this list,
"RME already provides source to ALSA Project for the HDSP Series (PCI and PCIe cards)."

I have the HDSPe MADI FX PCI-express sound card in place and from a search of the web, there are two ways I can get it to work on Linux.

Method A) use existing ASLA driver

Therefore, I should be able to use the existing ASLA drivers (see http://www.rme-audio.de/en/downloads/driver/linux.php).
Can anyone confirm that this will work (and indicate which driver I actually need)?
[If relevant I am using Debian 8 (Jessie) on a 64-bit DELL Machine (Intel i7)]

Method B) create my own driver, using the above mentioned source provided by RME
Is this necessary? [It would take me quite some time, and I wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel]
Where is the relevant "source" or "technical information" from RME that I would need to do this?

Thank you very much in advance.
