Topic: Using AES in Fireface Ufx

I was testing my old dat machines, and when I connected via AES I wasn't getting any signal, this was true of both my machines, a Tascam DA 30 and a Panasonic SV 3800

It's been a very long time since I've used AES, my question is What am I missing?  I think it unlikely there would be a problem with both machines, and also unlikely a problem with the fireface.

Now I really don't care about the Dats as I'm selling them off, but I was thinking about getting something like a Flying Cow so I could make use of the in and outs vial AES.  Would that work.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The Settings dialog includes an option where you most probably disabled the AES XLR input by switching it to ADAT optical instead.

Re: Using AES in Fireface Ufx

That was it, thank you. I had been looking at all the options in Total Mix and had forgotten to check the Fireface USB settings dialog box.

All is well.
