Topic: 2 FF800 gets switched in SW & Totalmix

hello,

got 1 main FF800 which is always on, connected to computer FW800
second FF800 is connected through FW800 to the first, slaved to WC
when i power the second FF800, totalmix & all inputs on my SW are subdued by this one
eg. first FF800, inputs 1-10 - when i power the second FF800, the inputs 1-10 become inputs 27-28
funny thing is that the totalmix UI change to "fireface(1)" (instead of just "fireface") but the channel description etc is that of the first fireface!
is there a workaround for this please?
please note : i cannot change the second FF800 to become my main, since the second has 1 bad FW800 port, so this cannot be "hub"

Re: 2 FF800 gets switched in SW & Totalmix

sp nobody has any clue?
no support for this?

i've attached a few pics to explain more

this is the screen when i have just my main FF800 on:
https://preview.ibb.co/gOOdUS/FF800.jpg

this happens when i put my second / slave FF800 on :

my second / slave FF800 gets all fader assignments (& names, routings etc) of my (previous) main FF800 and becomes named Fireface 800 (1)

my (previous) main FF800 becomes Fireface 800 (2) and gets standard/default routing assingments

also in software, my (previous) input 1/2, now becomes input 29/30 or so - very difficult to work with a default /template setup
(as i don't always need the 2 FF800 'on')

Re: 2 FF800 gets switched in SW & Totalmix

It can be hub, as the second FF needs only to be connected via FW400 from the first. IMHO that should work. Otherwise you should take the opportunity to send the unit in for service/repair.

AFAIR Windows uses the FF's serial number to determine the order.
