Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

Do you know what causes this?

As you can see the display is washed out and very hard to read.

There is a setting to change the Contrast in the display's menu. If that doesn't work send it in for service.

I scrolled through the display.  Checked the manual.. I don't see this option.  Can you point me to the right section in the manual?

Key SETUP/REV - turn Encoder 1 to Options, turn encoder 2 to Hardware/Diagnosis, press encoder 2 until you reach LCD Contrast.

There is no Options screen on my UFX when I press Setup/Rev, then turn encoder 1.

What menus do you see under Setup/Rev?

I have Reverb, Control Room, and Load/Store Settings.

The top shows Reverb/Echo, Options, Setups.

In the second line (for encoder 2 operation) it respectively shows Reverb or Echo, Control Room (plus more), and Load/Store all Settings.

And that is the case since at least 2011.
