Topic: expanding Apollo twin USB with ADI-2

hey gang - I'm considering to expand my apollo twin USB with an ADI-2 (not PRO or DAC) via adat. the ADI-2 would have to send it's clock to the Apollo as it doesn't send one itself...
is this possible? does anyone have experience?
many thanks

Re: expanding Apollo twin USB with ADI-2

It should be easily possible.

See your products manual p28: clock sync sources are internal, S/PDIF, ADAT.

On the ADI-2 (handbook ch 8 "clock selection") you only need to push the button "clock" to select the desired clock speed, then it acts as master. And as master it will surely send out clock information on ADAT OUT.

thanks much - just wanted to make sure the ADI-2 sends one via adat.
thanks for your input

Re: expanding Apollo twin USB with ADI-2

I never tried it, as I do not own these devices, but from pure logic this should be doable.

Re: expanding Apollo twin USB with ADI-2

thanks again - the combo made sense in my head. But as I'm new to the topic of clocks I figured I'll check in with someone who understands better and getting the pure logic of something right is a good start.
