Topic: Surround sound output via DVD/Blu-ray and totalmix possible?

Hi!

We have setup a studio system that uses the HDSP 9652 (two analogue expansion boards), Reaper, Pro Tools HD 12 and a Genelec 5.1 speaker system with a Mackie analogue mixer.

We have the DAW's outputting 5.1 no problem via the analogue expansion boards. I'm now trying to figure out the best way to output 5.1 sound from a DVD and Blu-ray players.

Can we output the audio from the DVD/Blu-ray players via digital output and route into Hammerfall and from there to our Mackie and Genelec speakers?

I figure we need to purchase some hardware but what would be the best way to go about this?
