Topic: Variations in output voltages

Hi All

I'm just doing some testing on a Fireface 800 and have noticed some variation in the voltages of the outputs at 0dB

I'm running the RME 1khz test tone, totalmix is showing 0dB on all outputs, there are no variations on these outputs in the matrix (ie all at 0) and I am getting the following voltage readings physically measured at the outputs..

1 - 1.9140
2 - 2.0240
3 - 2.0050
4 - 2.0528
5 - 1.9831
6 - 1.8871
7 - 2.0680
8 - 2.0981

How normal is this variation I wonder?

Thank you!

Re: Variations in output voltages

2.0981 = +8.655 dBu

1.8871 = +7.734 dBU

Max difference = 0.921 dB. Most channels are really close, channel 6 should be checked at all frequencies, not only one. A music test is sufficient. Otherwise this is ok. Remember how old that unit is...

Re: Variations in output voltages

Thanks, Matthias.

I appreciate it is an old unit so wasn't that surprised there are differences.

Re: Variations in output voltages

Are the result exactly repeatable? If not, try cleaning the contacts
