Topic: Fireface 400 with Mac 10.13.3 - causing slow running / glitches

I've downloaded the correct drivers & followed various instructions online, however as soon as I plug my Fireface 400 via firewire cable into my Mac (running 10.13.13) it immediately causes the computer to behave weirdly - the mouse won't track smoothly / becomes all drunk & glitchy! It runs totally fine again when I disconnect the soundcard.

Can anyone recommend a solution?

Interface: Fireface 400 (older model)
Mac: Macbook Pro running High Sierra (10.13.3)

Thanks,

Harry

Does this also happen if the FF400 is powered externally and not fed by Fireiwire bus power?

Answer: Yes, i’ve Only been using it with external power.

Could you try another external PSU?

It sounds as if that PSU is injecting noise into the ground connection. Bad enough noise to make your Mac go haywire. I've only seen that once, with gear that leaked 230V onto the ground connection.

I suppose it also happens when the Macbook is running on battery?
