Topic: FF802 Which is best - Firewire or USB connection?

I have recently replaced my FF800 with an FF802 and currently using the existing PCIE firewire connection I had for the FF800
I also have 16 additional inputs via the ADAT connections
I plan to upgrade my PC should I get a motherboard which will cater for my PCIE firewire card or should I connect via USB
Which will give me the most throughput and lowest latency?

Re: FF802 Which is best - Firewire or USB connection?

Usually depends on mainboard / chipset what runs better.
Maybe keep only USB connected because then you can also perform firmware upgrades via USB and safe one cable.
RTTs do not differ much between USB and Firewire, see Excel screenshot.

Please note: when connecting the 802 via firewire, the FW800 port is only for plug compatibility with FW800,
in fact its only FW400.
