Hi,
I'm currently facing a weird issue with an RME UFX 2 and Windows 10 - 1803.
The windows driver (WDM) automatically set up the card in a 7.1 speaker setup, but mine is only 5.1, there's no way to force the system in 5.1 anymore, and windows added an ugly channel phantoming option that feed channel 7 and 8 in 1-2(front left/right) and 5-6 (side left/right) resulting in bad spatialization.

Is there an option somewhere to force the system back in 5.1 ?

7.1 works perfectly also in 5.1. What you describe has nothing to do with the formats as such but with a not correctly initialized 7.1 mode. Change the sample rate back and forth, choose the correct one (48 for surround), and check all outputs via clicking on the respective speakers.

Or you overlooked that TotalMix is doing this.
