Topic: Connect Fireface 800 with new a DAW

Hi,
i ordered me a new PC with a Asus Prime z370-a Mobo. My question is which is the safest way to connect my Fireface 800. Does it work with a Thunderbolt 3 to 2 Adaper ? Or Should i get the Syba 3 Port Firewire PCI-Express with TI XIO2213B Chipset. Like a lot of you guys here recommended. I would highly appreciate any proposals to keep my loving FF 800 smoothly running on my new DAW.

Any luck on this ?

I can't get my Fireface 800 to work on my Dell Laptop Precision M4800 with a firewire expresscard.
Drivers load up, but the Total Mix or User Screen won't open from the taskbar.

I also have a homebuilt rackmount, still almost "new" from 2007....with an Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard and Q6600 processor...lol.   It hardly ever ran, but it's obsolete....'not sure what to do with it....

What I may like to do is upgrade the MOBO and Chipset in that same ATX form Factor Rackmount Case (4U).

With the uncertainty of the Fireface 800 working, I'm not sure which way to go.

The Fireface works just fine on my 2012 Macbook Pro laptop with Thunderbolt to Firewire.
