Topic: Daw won't output to channels 1/2 (Fireface 400)

Hi,
I'd be really grateful for some help.
I've just bought a fireface 400.
Sounds from my computer such as itunes are played on main outputs 1/2
My daw, Ableton when set to outputs 1/2 makes no sound.
Levels are showing in Ableton but there are none in totalmix fx
If I change the output to 3/4 in Ableton then totalmix fx shows levels and I can hear the audio.
Can anyone tell me what's going on here?
