Topic: Need help with TotalMix

I've had the BabyFace since 2014 or so. When I got it I figured out, more by luck than understanding, how to set up the Totalmix to do what I wanted. A month or so ago, something happened that reset the TotalMix software (to factory defaults?) and now I can't figure out how to get it to work the way I had it before. I've watched all the video tutorials I can and still can't figure it out.

I have two mics, a set of speaker monitors and a set of headphones. I can get audio playback from my DAW and the internet (You Tube etc). I can playback audio channels and hear any effects I have on them. What I can't do now since the reset is be able to hear the effects I have on an audio channel in my DAW (for example vocals) and hear those effects when I want to record a new vocal track. All I can hear is the raw audio from the mic. I can't hear the effects that are on the vocal or guitar track at all. So I can't record any new audio tracks.

I'm just a bedroom musician so I just need this very basic setup. I don't need fancy headphone mixes or anything. Just be able to  hear the effects on my channels when recording.

I think I'm going to need some help. Thanks.

Re: Need help with TotalMix

TM FX is extremely logic and easy, you only need to know very few things as a basement.

Please see my TotalMix Primer here, step by step informations: https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … rnal-equi/

And RME tutorial video: https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … al-Videos/

And the handbooks also contain good informations.

Re: Need help with TotalMix

Thanks. I'think it's actually a problem with Studio One and not Totalmix. Still working on it.

Re: Need help with TotalMix

Yeah ok...it's something in Studio One. False alarm. Thanks.

Re: Need help with TotalMix

The very first thing that you might made have wrong and should remember for the next time: after the mysterious reset you should have hit the Undo button. With a bit of luck the former state would have been back in a second.
